With the advancement of industrialization, the classification of precision machining has become increasingly diverse, with ever more specialized and refined focuses. Machining refers to the process of altering the geometric dimensions or performance characteristics of a workpiece using mechanical equipment. Based on the machining method, it can be divided into cutting machining and forming (or pressure) machining.

So, what exactly is precision parts machining? Precision parts machining is, in essence, a type of mechanical machining; however, due to the high level of dimensional accuracy required, it places correspondingly stringent demands on both the machining equipment and the production processes.

Precision part machining offers numerous advantages, yet the process is highly stringent, with every step—tool entry and exit—carefully coordinated. Achieving tight dimensional tolerances can minimize material waste and reduce costs. For instance, tolerances as tight as ±1 μm for a 1 mm dimension must be maintained; any deviation renders the part scrap and unusable. What are the specific advantages of precision part machining? Primarily, it enables levels of accuracy unattainable through conventional machining. This high precision relies on sophisticated machining equipment and precise control systems, as well as the use of precision masks as intermediaries to achieve extremely fine control over the amount of material removed or added from the surface layer.
