In the manufacturing sector, quality has become a critical factor that determines an enterprise’s survival and development. Why is quality given such paramount importance? Because quality affects a company’s reputation and brand awareness; it shapes its corporate image and competitive edge; and, ultimately, it directly determines the company’s very survival.
As the famous saying goes: “For a product, it’s either 100 points or zero.” The slightest quality defect in any product spells failure. It is universally acknowledged that quality is the market—and the very foundation for an enterprise’s survival and growth. Without superior quality, there can be no sustainable development for a company’s products.
This is particularly worthy of careful consideration in the machining industry. Based on our company’s routine precision-part manufacturing processes, we conducted a brief analysis: identifying and correcting quality issues before production costs 30 yuan; detecting and resolving such issues during production incurs 300 yuan; and only discovering and rectifying defects after the product has been sold requires 3,000 yuan. The disparity is striking—after all, these costs encompass far more than just material expenses; they also include time, labor, packaging, transportation, and a host of other overheads.
Precision parts machining may seem like work on a single component, but each part is ultimately used in industries such as machinery and intelligent robotics; therefore, no step in the process can be taken lightly.
It is thus evident that severe losses caused by human error or poor management are truly alarming. These tragic realities amply demonstrate that quality is a matter of survival.
