What should be paid attention to during the machining of precision hardware parts?
Precision metal parts machining refers to the processing of small-diameter metal components. Since the materials and design drawings for such parts are of great importance, several key considerations must be observed during the machining process; otherwise, defects may arise that lead to scrap. So what should be taken into account when machining precision metal parts? The following is a brief overview.
Points to note during the machining of precision hardware parts:
1. As mentioned earlier, precision metal parts machining involves processing small-diameter metal components; therefore, the design drawings for such products must be highly accurate. Even a slight deviation in dimensions can lead to significant discrepancies in performance—what seems like a minor error on paper can result in components that are unusable, thereby increasing production costs.
2. During the machining of hardware parts, operators must maintain proper posture and remain fully alert and focused to perform their tasks effectively. They must stay mentally concentrated throughout the operation, refrain from idle chatter, and work in close coordination with one another. Operators should never operate while feeling irritable or fatigued.
3. Before initiating any machine operation, verify that all moving parts have been lubricated with appropriate grease or oil, then start the machine and check that the clutch and brake are functioning properly. Run the machine at no-load for 1 to 3 minutes; under no circumstances shall the machine be operated if any malfunctions are detected.
4. When starting the power and operating the machinery, ensure that all other personnel have completely vacated the machine’s work area and have removed any debris from the worktable before powering on the machine.
5. During machine operation, it is prohibited to insert your hand into the slide’s working area, and it is strictly forbidden to use your hands to load or unload workpieces. When loading or unloading workpieces inside the punch press, only standard-compliant tools must be used. If any abnormal noises are detected or the machine malfunctions, immediately switch off the power supply and perform a thorough inspection.
