It is widely acknowledged that quality is the lifeline of an enterprise. So how can we effectively manage quality control and reduce corporate costs? As someone in the machining industry, why do I say this?
First of all, as everyone knows when machining mechanical parts, problems are bound to arise during production. When turning parts, the selection of the blank material is critical: the size and length of the material directly affect the machining process and duration. An excessively long blank increases machining time, while one that is too short may render machining impossible. Throughout the machining process, every dimension and every step must be promptly inspected by the operator; digital calipers and micrometers are indispensable, with a required measurement accuracy of 0.001 mm. In production, operators must exercise sufficient patience and meticulous attention to detail to ensure that every part produced meets quality standards.
In other words, if operators fail to perform self-inspections during the machining process after programming and instead carry out their work carelessly, defects may go undetected in a timely manner. By the time the part is handed over to quality control, it is already too late to address the issue, and the resulting cascade of costs must be borne by the company. Therefore, it is imperative to rigorously require every operator to possess adequate inspection skills, thereby effectively ensuring product quality and on-time delivery.
The importance of quality control lies not in merely supervising production, but in our commitment to maintaining the highest possible quality standards to prevent defective products from reaching customers and causing unnecessary problems. Therefore, in the manufacturing of mechanical parts, product quality should not be overly reliant on final inspection.
